Bridging programs in Chemistry, Mathematics B and Physics are offered to students and the general community to assist participants to undertake studies in these areas at Tertiary level.
The bridging programs are offered to enable you to prepare for university studies where the subject knowledge is assumed for QUT or is a prerequisite for course entry for other institutions.
The bridging programs are provided by the Faculty of Science and Technology through the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Unit of the University. These programs are outlined below; further details are available from the CPE Unit information on Short Courses.
Chemistry
Chemistry is offered as a single semester course in first semester, requiring attendance for one night per week from February to May.
Physics
The Physics Bridging Course is an external course comprising directed notes, worked problems and tutorials delivered via the web. The course is self paced with an assigned mentor and is designed for intending tertiary students who need to complete their study of physics to senior level to qualify for entry to a tertiary course or for those who wish extend their current understanding of physics.
Mathematics B
Mathematics B is offered as a single semester course in first semester (requiring attendance for two nights per week from February to May), in second semester (two nights per week, July to October), or as a six–week intensive course in Summer (three nights per week, November to December or four days per week, November to December). The intensive courses in Summer are completed in sufficient time for students to be eligible for the first round offer in Semester 1 of the following year.
